Corey + Kim | Raleigh, North Carolina | Sweet Autumn Engagement Session

CoreyKim_EngagementSession-7135.jpg

From the moment I met Corey and Kim, I was immediately drawn to their fun-loving spirits and just how genuine their relationship felt. Kim is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet and Corey can make anybody laugh! It's obvious that these two love to have fun together and bring out the absolute best in each other. I knew that I was going to have so much fun working with them in front of and behind the camera, and my time with them for their engagement session only made me that much more excited for their wedding day next April!

For their engagement session, we walked around JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh, laughed, and talked about wedding plans. The fall weather and evening light was absolutely perfect, but nothing compared to how perfect Corey and Kim were together! There was something so effortless about how they interacted with one another and I was able to capture some truly beautiful moments. At the very end of their session, Corey and Kim brought out a celebratory bottle of champagne to end a great evening!

Corey and Kim, I am so excited to capture this very exciting season of your lives and cannot wait until next year when you two finally become husband and wife! April cannot get here soon enough!

David + Maggie | Charlotte, North Carolina | Downtown Engagement Proposal

I love the story of how I met David and Maggie, how they got engaged, and how I was lucky enough to come along and capture it all! Maggie and I both attended Appalachian State University and got our degrees in Commercial Photography, but we never actually crossed paths until after we both graduated. We had been following each other's work for the longest time, and when Maggie reached out to me about doing a session with her family as well as her boyfriend, David, I was so excited! The very next day after that session, David emailed me with his plans of proposing soon to Maggie. He knew how important it was to Maggie to have a photographer there to capture that incredibly special moment, so when he asked me, of course I said yes!!

The weeks leading up to the proposal, David and I emailed back and forth to create the perfect plan for his proposal in downtown Charlotte. Unfortunately, our original plan fell through last minute and we had to come up with an alternate plan, but David remained so calm, thought quick on his feet, and we ended up in the most adorable little park in the heart of downtown Charlotte. It was in that little park that David got down on one knee to ask Maggie to marry him, and it was in that little park that these two started a new and exciting chapter of their lives together!

After the proposal, I was able to spend some time capturing Maggie and David's first moments as an engaged couple and it was such joyful experience! We walked all around downtown and I was able to capture some of the sweetest moments for them! Maggie and David are two of the kindest and sweetest people you will ever meet, and I am so excited for them as they embark on this exciting new journey into marriage together! Congratulations, you two!!

Aaron + Amy Loochtan | Chapel Hill, North Carolina | Maternity Session

Loochtan_MaternitySession-3718.jpg

I met Amy when she asked me to help her shoot some content for her beautiful life and style blog, Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins (check it out here!). This lady knows fashion and every room in her house is to die for! Right around the time I met Amy, she had just found out that her and her husband, Aaron, were expecting! While chatting one day, she asked if I could take some maternity photos for her, so of course I said yes! Their session fell on the first day of October, and the fall weather could not have been any more gorgeous! These two kept me laughing the whole time and it was so much fun capturing some beautiful moments that they can one day share with their little one!

Amy and Aaron, thank you so much again for letting me capture your little growing family!

Addison + Rachel McDowell | Hickory, North Carolina | Bright and Romantic Hickory Wedding

McDowell_Wedding-8862.jpg

It's always a huge honor when another wedding photographer chooses me to capture her own special day. Rachel owns her own wedding photography business (check her out here!) and I have loved getting to follow along with her work. She has such a huge heart for her couples and her work is absolutely stunning! When she reached out to me about her August wedding, I could not have been more excited! Addison and Rachel have a beautiful Christ-centered love that simply radiated their entire wedding day, and capturing the two of them on one of the happiest days of their lives was such a blessing!

Because Rachel is a wedding photographer, I knew that no detail would be overlooked on her and Addison's special day. Everything looked absolutely beautiful, from the lush and colorful bouquets, to the ornate table settings. Rachel looked absolutely gorgeous in her wedding dress and Addison made for one dapper groom! The two were married amongst all of their closest friends and family at Grace Chapel on Lenoir-Rhyne University's campus in Hickory, North Carolina, then they danced the night away at The Crossing at Hollar Mill. I could not have asked for a more beautiful day with a more beautiful couple in love!

Rachel and Addison, thank you so much for trusting in me to capture this special day for you both and for welcoming me into your beautiful love story! I feel so blessed to have met you both and cannot wait to see where the Lord takes you both and your marriage! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. McDowell!

Alec + Laurel | Raleigh, North Carolina | Sweet Raleigh Engagement

When I first met Laurel, I was immediately drawn to her genuinely sweet and bubbly personality! During our initial meeting, it was so much fun getting to hear her chat excitedly about her and Alec's relationship, how they met and fell in love, and the beautiful wedding they are planning for next June! It should also be noted that we quickly bonded over the fact that we both love labradors (wait until you see her and Alec's precious chocolate lab puppy, Bailey). Due to crazy schedules, I didn't get to meet Alec until the day of their session, but I knew immediately upon meeting him that he was the perfect fit for Laurel! Witnessing them together was such a sweet experience, and I was able to capture some truly beautiful moments during my time with them. They both love to laugh and have fun with each other and I didn't see either of them without the biggest grin on their face the whole entire session!

For Alec and Laurel's session, they wanted to bring a little bit of Raleigh to their photos since Alec graduated from NC State, so we decided on Dorothea Dix Park, which has an amazing view of the Raleigh skyline! We could not have asked for a more gorgeous day, with a slight breeze and just a hint of fall weather! We had so much fun walking around, playing with sweet Bailey, and chatting about wedding plans!

Alec and Laurel, thank you so much for letting me capture this exciting season of your relationship and for allowing me to be there for one of the biggest days of your lives! I know your wedding is going to be truly beautiful and I cannot wait until the day finally gets here!

Jeff + Sara Viola | Raleigh, North Carolina | Navy and Pink Downtown Wedding

Viola_Wedding-4643.jpg

I didn't even get to meet Jeff and Sara in person until their wedding day, but the months leading up to their wedding, from talking on the phone and chatting over Facetime, I knew that I was going to love working with them! Jeff and Sara are two of the most laid back and fun people you will ever meet, not to mention they're also just as sweet as can be. Their wedding day was probably one of the hottest of the whole entire summer, but the real heat was not brought by the high temperatures outside, but rather the love that radiated from Jeff and Sara! They were all smiles throughout the entire day and were such good sports despite the weather.

Jeff and Sara were married in downtown Raleigh at Market Hall, where they celebrated their union amongst all of their closest friends and family. One of my favorite parts of any wedding is seeing the personal touches that the bride and groom put into their day to make it their own, and Jeff and Sara's was full of them! Family was very important to them, so they made sure they played a huge role in their wedding day, all the way from the ceremony to the reception (They even included their sweet pup as the Flowerdog and it was probably one of the cutest things I've ever witnessed!). Both Sara and Jeff graduated from NC State, so it was only appropriate that one of their groomsmen surprise them with a visit from Mr. Wuf himself during the reception! Their day was full of so much laughter and some awesome and unforgettable moments!

Jeff and Sara, I'm so incredibly grateful that your wedding allowed us to cross paths and I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to capture this very special day for you both! I hope that marriage brings you countless more wonderful days and memories together! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Viola!

Peter + Ashton | Durham, North Carolina | Historic Downtown Durham Engagement

AshtonPeter_Engagements-9609.jpg

I met Ashton through another one of my past brides who got married this past summer. Ashton was a bridesmaid at her wedding, and after she and Peter got engaged, she reached out to me about photographing her own wedding next year! Peter proposed to Ashton earlier this year on a beach at sunset (talk about the perfect setting!), and I even got to see the whole proposal on video! These two are not only an absolutely adorable and gorgeous couple, they're also incredibly sweet and so fun to be around! For their engagement session, we decided to walk around downtown Durham, with all of the historic buildings and exposed brick, then end the evening at a nearby park with their three sweet pups! We could not have asked for more beautiful weather that day, and the only thing that made it even better was getting to follow these two around and capture their love! Peter and Ashton just fed off of each other's energy the whole entire session, creating some stunning images, and I can only imagine how amazing their wedding day will be next August!

Peter and Ashton, thank you so much for allowing me to capture this very exciting season in both of your lives! I cannot wait for your wedding next year!

Dustin + Lindsay Gardner | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | Downtown Pittsburgh + Eclectic Farm Wedding

Gardner_Wedding-3196.jpg

I knew Lindsay back when I was just an awkward little middle schooler. Her younger sister, Kate, and I were good friends and our moms used to teach together. Lindsay reached out to me after she and Dustin got engaged, and I was so excited to be able to reconnect with her, hear about her upcoming wedding, and have the opportunity to capture such a special day for her and Dustin! I learned that she had moved up to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she met and fell in love with Dustin. I was lucky enough to have them both in North Carolina for their engagement shoot, where I got to really know the amazing couple that they are! These two love to have fun and laugh, and have a shared love for their sweet pit pull pup, and all things food and Vans! It was such a treat having them in front of my camera and I was so excited for their wedding and to photograph them once more!

As soon as I arrived in Pittsburgh the night before Dustin and Lindsay's big day, I immediately knew that the nine hour drive was well worth it! I could see why they chose this for their home and the place where they would promise their lives to each other. Their wedding day brought the most beautiful weather, with clear blue skies, mid-70 degree weather, and a breeze. Dustin and Lindsay were married overlooking the lush green Pennsylvania mountains, surrounded by all of their friends and family, in one of the most beautiful and emotional ceremonies. Lindsay's father passed away many years ago, but his legacy was far from forgotten on her and Dustin's special day. During his life, he was a helicopter pilot for a hospital operating out of Pittsburgh, and the farm where Lindsay and Dustin were married just so happened to be on the route map for those helicopters. I'll never forget the look Lindsay and her sister gave each other during the ceremony, through tears and laughter, every time one would fly over their heads. It was as if their dad was sending that sweet little reminder to them that he was there with them.

Dustin and Lindsay's day was filled with so much joy and everything came together so beautifully. I loved every bit about their day, but especially getting to capture all of these beautiful moments for such a sweet couple. Dustin and Lindsay, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for choosing me to capture your beautiful wedding day and for allowing me to share your story with others! I wish you both all the best as you embark on this new and exciting chapter in your lives as husband and wife! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Gardner!

Chance + Lauren Robison | New Hill, North Carolina | Sweet and Classic Southern Wedding

You will not meet a sweeter or more joyful couple than Chance and Lauren! If their pictures don't convince you enough, these two have a love that is so beautiful and effortless, and capturing them on their wedding day as they vowed their lives to each other was an experience I'll never forget. There were so many priceless moments, from witnessing Chance's face as his bride walked down the aisle towards him to seeing the tears of joy fall from Lauren's eyes as she read a letter from her groom the morning before the ceremony. Their day was everything a wedding should be - full of endless joy and unforgettable moments!

When I first met Chance and Lauren, it was evident that their families were extremely important to them, and their wedding day was a testament to that. One of my favorite details of their wedding day was Lauren's wedding dress, which belonged to her mother for her wedding day. Not only did Lauren look absolutely stunning, but seeing the look on her mom's face as she took in the sight of her daughter in the same dress she once wore was such a beautiful moment! Chance and Lauren were also married in their little family church in Pittsboro, North Carolina, where they were surrounded by all of their family, relatives, and closest friends. Everything about their day, from the vibrant color palette to the constant smiles and laughter, perfectly reflected the joyfulness of this beautiful couple!

Chance and Lauren, thank you so much for allowing me to capture this exciting season of your lives and for trusting in me to capture and share your love story! Your wedding day was such a sweet and special occasion, and I'm so thankful that I could have been a part of it! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Robison!

Bradley + Alison Singletary | Raleigh, North Carolina | Sweet Downtown Raleigh Wedding

Brad and Alison proved to me during their engagement session earlier this year that they are pros in front of a camera, but having them on camera on their wedding day was a whole other level of awesome! These two have such a genuine and truly beautiful relationship, so getting to capture them on one of the most important days of their lives was such a fun and rewarding experience. Brad has a way of making Alison laugh whenever she's around him, and Alison's stunning smile lights up every time she looks at Brad. They also aren't afraid to let loose around each other and have fun, which was something I got to see a lot of on their special day!

Their wedding was held in downtown Raleigh at The Stockroom at 230, where they celebrated late into the night with all of their friends and family. Their day consisted of plenty of laughter and fun moments, a trolley ride or two around downtown, a surprise dance breakdown during the first dance, and breakfast for dinner (hello, waffle bar!). Brad and Alison's personalities shone through with every aspect of their wedding day, and it all came together so beautifully! Every detail, from Alison's stunning wedding dress to the gorgeous pastel shades of the florals, was absolute perfection!

Brad and Alison, I could not be happier for you two as you begin this exciting new chapter together. I know this year has been full of many wonderful new beginnings for the both of you, and I'm so grateful to have been a part of this one! I have no doubt your marriage will bring plenty of laughter and fun memories together! I wish you both all the best as you continue your lives together as husband and wife! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Singletary!

Joseph + Kristen Shuford | Chapel Hill, North Carolina | Intimate Botanical Garden Wedding

When I met Joseph and Kristen for the first time to discuss their wedding, I immediately fell in love with the simple approach they had to their wedding day. They didn't want anything extravagant, they just wanted to have a small celebration and enjoy good fellowship with their friends and family. Their day was simple, intimate, sweet, and everything a wedding day should be (plus, I'm a sucker for any wedding that involves cute dogs). Joseph and Kristen were all smiles from beginning to end and their joy was absolutely infectious!

Joseph and Kristen were married surrounded by all of their closest friends and family in the heart of the North Carolina Botanical Gardens. What I loved so much about their day was that, because they opted out of doing a bridal party, I was able to spend most of their wedding day with just the two of them in front of my camera. Joseph and Kristen have such an obvious strong bond and when they're together, there's just something so sweet and beautiful about their relationship. Capturing them on one of the most important days of their lives was such a huge honor and a blessing to be a part of!

Joseph and Kristen, you both have been such a delight to work with and I'm so happy I could be a part of your wedding day! I wish you both all the best as you continue this exciting journey together! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Shuford!

Sean + Cierra O'Neal | Holly Springs, North Carolina | Romantic Blush Wedding

It's not uncommon for me to shed a few tears (okay, sometimes a lot of tears) while going through and editing my weddings, and this particular wedding was certainly no exception! You will not meet a more beautiful couple, inside and out, than Sean and Cierra, and their wedding day was full of some of the most beautifully raw and emotional moments I've had the pleasure of capturing as a wedding photographer. Cierra is as kind and sweet as she is gorgeous, and Sean is just a great, genuine person and has one of the warmest smiles, which was spread across his face his entire wedding day! Words cannot describe just how special it was to witness and capture these two together on their wedding day, but thankfully photographs speak when words fail!

Sean and Cierra promised their lives to each other under a bright Carolina blue sky, and ended their night with tons of laughter, music, and dancing! Everything about their day, from Cierra's jaw-dropping wedding dress to all of the lush florals and blush-toned details, was pure perfection! And while I love capturing beautiful details as much as the next wedding photographer, what I enjoyed so much about this wedding was capturing the pure joy on Sean's face as he saw his bride for the very first time, the tears Cierra shed seeing her dad the morning before the wedding, and Sean's hand gently reaching up to brush a single tear off of Cierra's cheek during their first dance as husband and wife. Moments like those are what make my job so rewarding, and their day was full of them!

Sean and Cierra, I have absolutely loved getting to know the two of you during this very exciting season of your lives and being able to be present on such a special day! Thank you for letting me capture all of these beautiful moments - here's to many more in the future! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. O'Neal!

Isaac + Kelcey Dodson | Mebane, North Carolina | Vibrant Spring Wedding

It's not often that I get to work so closely with one of my couples for their wedding day as I did with Isaac and Kelcey for their wedding this year. Not only did I get to have them in front of my camera multiple times leading up to their big day, I also did all the calligraphy for their invitations and some of their reception decor. It's so much fun getting to spend so much time with my clients and seeing their wedding unfold (and getting to finally capture it all in the end)! Isaac and Kelcey are such sweet and genuine people, and when they first began to tell me their story and all of their plans for their spring wedding, I knew I had to work with them! Sweet Kelcey has such a kind and gentle spirit and Isaac has a great sense of humor and the ability to make anybody laugh. Together, it's as if they were made for each other!

Leading up to their wedding day, the forecast was looking a little less than promising. I knew how much thought, time, and effort Isaac and Kelcey had put into every little detail of their outdoor wedding celebration, so I prayed that the rain would hold up for this long-awaited day! The morning of their wedding, there was not a cloud in the sky and the day turned out to be perfect (and I'm not just talking about the weather)! Every single detail, from Kelcey's vibrant bouquet to Isaac and Kelcey's first few moments as husband and wife, were complete perfection. The joy that was felt by everyone filled every second of their day, and it was such a treat to get to capture such a vibrant and happy occasion!

Isaac and Kelcey, thank you so much for letting me come along on this exciting journey with you both! It has been such a pleasure getting to know you over the past year and to capture one of the most beautiful days of your lives. I wish you all the best as you continue your marriage! Paul + Anne Pierron | Durham, North Carolina | Wedding

I met Anne through my sister while they were both attending Duke Nursing School. My sister sent her my way after she found out Anne was getting married this Spring, and I'm so glad she did! Meeting Anne for the first time, I was immediately drawn to her sense of humor and our shared love for our cats! I later met Paul and knew that the two of them were the perfect match! Both Anne and Paul are both so fun and laid-back, and I knew their wedding was going to be exactly that!

Anne and Paul were married at the Hope Valley Country Club overlooking the golf course and in front of all their closest friends and family. Their day was full of laughter, the most beautiful weather, crazy golf cart rides, and the sweetest moments! Anne and Paul were so much fun to work with on their special day and kept me laughing the whole day! They were all smiles when they were around each other and their chemistry was effortless. Capturing a love so sweet and natural like theirs made every moment of their wedding day a blast!

Anne and Paul, thank you again for letting my capture your beautiful wedding day! It has been so much fun getting to know the two of you, and it was so special to be a part of your big day! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Pierron!

Albert + Carrie | Chapel Hill, North Carolina | Engagement

Carrie and Albert are such a fun couple and two of the sweetest and kindest people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting! They're super adventurous and love traveling together (Albert actually proposed to Carrie while in the Alps! Talk about an unforgettable proposal!) When I was first getting to know them, I found out that Albert loves photography, so to have them choose me to capture one of the most exciting seasons of their life was such a huge honor! Their engagement session was one of the sweetest sessions I've had the pleasure of photographing and I could not get enough of just how perfect these two are together! Something just felt so effortless about the way Carrie and Albert interacted with one another, and to witness a love like theirs was truly something special.

For their engagement session, we walked around UNC's campus, talked all about their upcoming fall wedding, shared stories, and captured some seriously beautiful moments. What I loved so much about my time with Carrie and Albert was that I was able to capture some incredibly sweet and intimate moments, but I also got to see their goofy and fun side as well! Carrie has a smile that just lit up every photo, and Albert kept us laughing throughout our session! The more time I spent with these two, the more excited I got for their wedding in October! Carrie and Albert, thank you again for trusting in me to share your love story with others, and I cannot wait for your wedding in just a few months! It'll be here before you know it!

Greg + Taylor Lee | New Hill, North Carolina | Sweet and Classic Wedding

The morning of Taylor and Greg's wedding, as all the girls were gathered together and getting ready, I overheard Taylor tell the story of how she and Greg met. I had heard her tell it once before, but this time, on her wedding day, there was so much more emotion in her voice. She talked about how crazy the story of how they met was and how it was all because of God's perfect timing. Thinking about my own story of how my husband and I met, and how similar it was, I couldn't help but get a little emotional by her sweet story. Greg and Taylor are two of the sweetest people, and together, it's like there's nobody else around. I feel so lucky that I got to witness and capture one of the most important days of their life together, as they became husband and wife.

Greg and Taylor were married outside at The Bradford under clear blue skies and surrounded by all of their closest friends and family. Everything about their day was absolutely perfect, from Greg's reaction to Taylor during their first look, to all the stunning details. Because their wedding was Easter weekend, they chose to hold an Easter egg hunt for all the kids, and it was one of the cutest things ever! Their day was filled with smiles, laughter, and some of the sweetest moments!

Greg and Taylor, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day! I feel so honored to share your beautiful love story with others, and I wish you both all the best in the future! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Lee!

Joseph + Kristen | Chapel Hill, North Carolina | Spring Garden Engagement

When Joseph and Kristen first reached out to me about photographing their wedding this May, I could not have been more thrilled! Meeting them for the first time, I was immediately drawn to their sweet and laid back personalities, and I knew I was going to love working with them as their wedding photographer! Joseph and Kristen mentioned during our initial meeting that they were feeling a little bit nervous about having their photos taken, but let me tell you, as soon as I got them in front of my camera for their engagement session last month, they worked their magic and created some absolutely beautiful images!

For their engagement session, we wandered around Coker Arboretum on UNC's campus, and took in all of the green and beautiful blooms around us! Joseph and Kristen were so cute together and fed off of each other's energy to create some absolutely adorable moments! Joseph kept us all laughing the whole entire time and Kristen's infectious smile lit up every photo (Plus, they brought along their adorable puppy for some of the photos)! The chemistry between these two was absolutely perfect, and I'm so glad I got to capture it during their session!

Joseph and Kristen, thank you again for trusting me with capturing this amazing time in both of your lives! I cannot wait to celebrate with you both next weekend and preserve all of the wonderful memories of your wedding day!

Jimmy + Nicole Simpson | Hillsborough, North Carolina | Vibrant Wildflower Wedding

Jimmy and Nicole's wedding earlier this month was fun, vibrant, and full of the sweetest moments! Both Jimmy and Nicole have such fun-loving spirits, and their day perfectly reflected them and their personalities! I was lucky enough to be a part of their wedding day, and it was definitely the perfect way to kick off my Spring wedding season (nothing says "Spring" like rich colors and wildflowers everywhere)!

Every part of Jimmy and Nicole's wedding day was joyful from beginning to end, and it was also full of many surprises! I often get asked what my favorite part to capture on a wedding day is, and I always say the first look, whether that's a bride and groom having a private moment together before the ceremony, or as the bride is walking down the aisle towards her soon-to-be husband. That's the moment where true emotions that have been built up for so long finally spill over, and it creates some of the most beautiful and raw moments of any wedding day. And let me tell you, Jimmy's first look at Nicole was by far one of the sweetest moments I've seen as a wedding photographer! Jimmy and Nicole have such a genuine love for one another, and to capture one of the most important days of their life was such an honor!

Their day was not only filled with beautiful moments, but also some of the most beautiful details, from the wildflower alter backdrop to the lush and vibrant colors of the bouquets. I also loved that at every table, there was a different elephant figurine, since Nicole loves elephants! I love it when my couples add their own personal touches to their wedding day details!

Jimmy and Nicole, I had an absolute blast capturing your wedding day and am so thankful for you both! Thank you again for allowing me to tell your story to others, and I wish you both all the best as you continue with your marriage! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Simpson!

Both Jimmy and Nicole work for the YMCA, so all of the bridesmaids surprised them during their toasts with a song all about their relationship to the tune of "YMCA!"

Derrick + Leah | Durham, North Carolina | Engagements

When you mix beautiful light and a beautiful couple in love, magic is bound to happen! Derrick and Leah's engagement session was such a special treat for me and I loved getting to not only capture the sweet bond that these two have with one another, but also learning more about them both in front of and behind my camera. Both Derrick and Leah have this carefree spirit about them, which I love! They weren't afraid to just let loose during their session, laugh with one another, and just be themselves.

I had just discovered Penny's Bend Nature Preserve in Durham a week prior for another engagement session, and when Leah saw it, she instantly fell in love and knew she had to have her session there too! It's always fun returning to a spot that you've previously shot at to see what new things each couple brings to their session! I loved the soft color palette of Derrick and Leah's wardrobe, and how it so perfectly complemented the scenery around them. We ventured through fields of tall grass, chased the gorgeous evening light, and finished with a slow dance to the song Derrick and Leah will be dancing to as husband and wife in just a few short months. To say the least, their session was nothing short of incredible and made this photographer's heart very happy!

Derrick and Leah, I had so much fun with you both at your session and am getting so excited for your wedding day in September! Thank you for inviting me into your story and for letting me share it with others!

Eric + Sydnee | Durham, North Carolina | Engagements

Eric and Sydnee's story started in high school, where they met and started dating in 2009, and have been high school sweethearts ever since. They actually met at a football game while Eric was out on a date with Sydnee's best friend (Don't worry, it all worked out!). Eight years later, and they're finally getting married! Right after their engagement, I met up with Sydnee to talk about her wedding photography, and she joked that she's had eight years to plan her wedding! It's rare that I meet two people who have such a strong connection with one another, but Eric and Sydnee are one of those couples. Seeing them interact during their engagement session showed me just how effortless their relationship is - every moment between them was so sweet and truly genuine!

We found the most dreamy location for their session, full of the most beautiful fields of tall grass. Sydnee has always had an interest in vintage fashion, and I loved that she incorporated that into their session (I'm still obsessing over her skirt!). I had the best time getting to know Eric and Sydnee more during their shoot, and I'm so incredibly excited to photograph their wedding in September! Eric and Sydnee, thank you for welcoming me into your story and for letting me capture and share it with others! September cannot get here soon enough!
